Our Story

No one was more surprised by the creation of Laurel Elaine Jewelry than I was. Seriously, no one.

From an early age, my passion has always been helping people. In 3rd grade, I volunteered with special needs youth. In my high school psychology class, I decided I would be a therapist. After college, I worked with at risk youth and put myself through graduate school until I finally earned a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

The mental health field can be hard and full of heartbreak. After a particularly difficult week in 2014, I wandered through a craft store and walked out with a handful of brightly colored beads. I was hooked. It wasn't long after that I started Laurel Elaine Jewelry.

A few years later I found myself working as the director of a non profit organization working with some of the most high needs kids in the state of California when I had my first daughter. I only went back to work briefly before deciding that the place for me right now is home with her (and now her sister!), so I decided to take the leap and turn my side hustle into my fulltime gig.

I love building this business and seeing how my jewelry can bring joy and happiness into the lives of others. Jewelry making has been an exciting new adventure in my life and I love (pretty much) every minute of it – I hope that you’ll love my jewelry just as much!
